Kyle’s Travel Itinerary (Coming Home)

It seems like yesterday we were waiting in anticipation for Kyle’s travel itinerary to leave the United States for twenty-two months in Argentina. We waited anxiously for that email letting us know when he would leave and finally received it nearly two years ago. This evening we received Kyle’s itinerary to return home after serving honorably. It made it sink in, that he truly will be coming home shortly. We can’t wait to see him return but also will miss the weekly emails that have brought us such great blessings.

Once again, Kyle will travel with his MTC companion Elder Kimball but without Hermana Sandorf who finished her mission six months earlier. It will just be the two of them returning but carrying with them two years of the wonderful experience of a mission and the knowledge that they served faithfully. (jh)

  1. Jim, thank you for keeping this blog during Kyle’s mission. I came across it many months ago when Kyle was in Trevelin and have kept an eye on it since. I served in the same general area back in 84-86 and have enjoyed reading about Kyle’s experiences, at times, with some of the same people I met all the way back then. I know you and your family are proud of Kyle’s service and with such good reason. He has served with honor and dedication and has earned all the blessings the Lord has provided him and his family during this time. You have raised a wonderful young man and I’m excited for all of you to be together again when he returns home.

Thank you again for sharing this for others to see.

  2. John,

Thank you for your kind words. We have truly been blessed during Kyle’s mission. I know how important a mission is to both the people the missionary teaches and to the missionary as well. I will never forget the people of the the California Fresno Mission where I served, the best mission in the world though I suspect you and now Kyle will argue that point.

As I hear some of the older members at church begin a statement with “When I was on my mission” it helps me realize that a mission will have a lifelong impact on those who choose to serve. There simply is no better place to be than a mission for our youth.
